During the school year, Brothers and Sisters after school program will offer the following activities

  • Help with homework

  • Diagnosis of student knowledge of current grade curriculum

  • Identifying opportunities of improvement of individual students in meeting their current grade curriculum

  • Teachers will keep weekly records of individual student development

  • Introduction to computer literacy (email, typing documents, using spreadsheets)

  • Students will be provided snacks and a meal

Activities

This program will consist of daily afterschool scholarly and recreational activities moderated by individuals qualified to be Chatham County Teachers familiar with Chatham County School Curriculum and can identify and improve on academic deficits in individual students by working with them on a daily basis in concordance with where they should be in the school curriculum at any point in the year.

The program would also include a variety of recreation options such as:

  • Computer and Video Games

  • Outdoor Skills and Environmental Education

  • Fitness and Exercise

  • Sports

  •  Field Games

  • Dance and Music

·        A weekend event will be planned monthly to engage students to make a decision on and begin to visualize themselves in a possible future career. These events would include the following

  • Speakers of different professions

  • Professional mentorship

  • Field trips

  • Movies

  • History and Culture speakers

  • Awards and recognition

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Theater

  • Leadership Development and Community Service

  • Special Guests

  • Field Trips
